Description
Legendary album for Arzachel (Uriel) from 1969, featuring Steve Hillage, Dave Stewart, Clive Brooks and Mont Campbell. The band produced their sole album under the name Arzachel in June 1969. This was recorded in a day, and is almost as famous for the poor recording, lack of compression and limiting and rubbish pressing, as it is for the rarity of the album itself, and the assumed names used by the band. They managed to squeeze nearly 50 minutes onto 2 sides, which partly explains the poor sound.
I found this in my record collection quietly sitting between ABBA Gold and Automatic Man. while cataloging, and was surprised to say the least when I googled it.
This is a genuine Evolution first pressing of the album and the matrix engravings state.

The front of sleeve is shiny, there is a diagonal crease in to right hand corner 4 inches along and 2 inches down for the corner
The back of the cover is grubby, bit no writing anywhere.There are a few creases.
The sleeve is still glued all the way round
The spine has wear to it, and part of Z1003 is damaged.
The inner sleeve has had an article about Steve Hillage sellotaped to it, the glue has seeped into the paper, but has not effected the record.
The record itself is nice and shiny, there is a pressing mark on the label of side one like a very thin smear soaked from back of label. White spot on picture of side one is dust fleck.
There are a few light scuff marks on both sides.
THERE IS A SCRATCH THAT SOUNDS FROM THE START OF THE 3RD TRACK ON SIDE ONE, THE SCRATCH WHICH GOES FOR A QUARTER OF THE TRACK POPS FOR A GOOD BIT OF IT'S LENGTH. it plays through however.
It is difficult to asses surface noise on this album, due to the poor quality of the recording, but it has been played a fair few times and there is some degredation.
I am not a dealer, and so do not have any grading system, but apart from the scratch mentioned above if I was buying this in a vintage vinyl shop, I would reckon it was pretty ok,

I have debated how to list this, but have decided to list as a 3 day auction, but I'm not starting at a low opening bid, as this will not sell for a speculative 99p bid, and leaves the bidding open to folk who are serious and know about this album. The last 2 on here sold for just under and just over £500
