Description

This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Orgy in Rhythm” on the West 63rd St. (no “INC”) labels of Blue Note BLP 1554. The playing surface is in beautiful condition, with inaudible splotches that are typical of records that have been stored for a long time in their original inner sleeves; perhaps played once or twice. The laminated West 63rd St. cover is bright and clean throughout and has the first-issue serif typeface at the bottom of the back; water stain (no paper damage) along the bottom edge of the back slick; ¼” wear on the bottom seam, at the opening. Personnel include Art Taylor, Jo Jones, ‘Specs’ Wright, Sabu, Herbie Mann, and Ray Bryant. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL. Please do not bid unless you are comfortable providing credit card information directly. The “Blue Note Records” book – “A Guide for Identifying Original Pressings” is now available on eBay.
