1978 Japan-only King 1st LP issue, complete with OBI and paper insert
What is this copy:
1978 Japan King LP release of Art Blakey's unreleased materials at the time. This GXF-3021 was one of the “Blue Note Unissued Masters“ series. This recorded materials were also available on the US 2LP “Live Messengers” (Blue Note BN-LA 473-J2), but this Japanese release comes with Japan-only different jacket artwork.
Japan King LP reissues, not only Blue Note reissues but also other labels' reissues, are sought after for high fidelity pressing with courteous respects for the sounds of original pressings.
What's inside this LP:
This LP contains four tracks of outtakes from their famous live recording “Three Blind Mice” (United Artists UAJ-14002 / UAJS-15002). Although they are outtakes, the performances heard on this LP is very aggressive and supreme. The propulsive drummings by Art Blakey, superb improvisations by Wayne Shorter and Freddie Hubbard, etc., etc...

Condition of this copy:
Cover: NM- (9).
A very light scuff on the top seam, but totally in very beautiful and solid condition.
Disc: EX+ (8) to NM- (9).
Well-played copy, and has faint surface scuffs. But still plays very nice and clean.
Paper insert: NM- (9) with light browning near the corner.
Detailed liner-notes (in Japanese) are printed on it.
OBI (a paper strap which is common in Japanese releases): NM- (9).

Auditioning Environment:
Before I list LPs on eBay, I audition every LP (except sealed LPs and completely unplayed new old stocks) on my turntable to determine sound quality and sound defects (such as cracking, popping and background noise).
Stereo LPs are auditioned with DENON DL-103R or Audio Technica AT-OC9 carts, while Mono LPs with Audio Technica AT-MONO3/LP or Ortofon CG25Di carts.
