Any other information: Superb session from a band of avant-garde all stars including trombonist Roswell Rudd, John Tchicai on alto sax, bassist Reggie Workman, and drummer Charles Moffett, playing four tunes written by Shepp's mentor John Coltrane, plus one excellent original. This is the UK HMV mono issue of the LP, recorded in 1964 for Impulse. Five star rating on Allmusic: "Four for Trane is a truly fine, original, and lasting album from an under-celebrated musician."

Our Grading System
Please note that we use our own grading system which is more nuanced than the standard system. If there is anything you do not understand then please let us know. All our items have been visually graded beneath a down-facing halogen lamp. We have found that this has proven extremely effective. For higher value items, we give them a further audible play-grading.
