Description
You are bidding on a 3-LP set for Casey Kasem's radio broadcast of "American Top 40" for the week ended September 30, 1972, an AT40 Special ranking the "Top 40 Artists Of the Past Five Years.". Heard coast to coast and around the world, Casey counts down the top 40 artists for the previous 5 years, ranking their singles production from September, 1967 through August 1972. Along the way he sprinkles in tidbits about Aretha Franklin, The Who, Tom Jones, The Temptations, Glen Campbell, James Brown's curious chart dominance, and The Fifth Dimension, among others.

The LP set is in very good condition--I just finished listening to it again--but I do note one scratch which causes skips during #26 (on Side 2A), Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Other than that flaw, the vinyls have excellent audio (with an occasional pop or hiss.) The 6 pages of cue sheets as well as the AT40-logoed labels and box are in excellent shape. As shown, the box has the dates "Sunday, October 1, 1972" and "Thursday, October 5, 1972" written on it.
