There are many rare original Punk albums out there but only a few stand up in the same company as this item. Skrewdriver's first vinyl LP on Chiswick Records. It's a stunning copy. The cover is in Ex+ condition, it actually looks mint. The colours are deep & bold, the pink on black looks very striking. The front cover photo was captured at an early 1977 shoot. The 'censored box' on the front cover over the band name is inserted over the actual photo, this is not on the actual album. The back cover has individual photos of the band and the famous 'skrew in teeth' promo photo. The vinyl has been played but definitely not excessivley. I should also mention the LP plays at 45rpm. This album was released when Chiswick Records were based at 3 Kentish Town Road London, that was 31 years ago.
The album is completely underrated. 1977 saw many a stunning album released, people are still taking about how good 'Never Mind the Bollocks' is, how good every Clash album is & not forgetting the 1st Damned album, and rightly so. There are other bands who don't get mentioned who delivered premier league first albums, Slaughter & the Dogs & Skrewdriver to name two. The Skrewdriver album is high energy RnB, Punk, Garage, it's everything a good rock album should be. It opens with the killer Where's It Gonna End before pile driving into Government Action, Back Street Kids, Gotta Be Young, I Don't Need Your Love & I Don't Like You; side 1 ends with the classic single An-ti-so-cial. Side 2 and there's no let up, Too Much Confusion, 9 till 5, Jailbait, We Don't Pose & the Only One are hammered home like their live's depended on it. Having a very strong late 60s skindhead look crossed with a twist of Mod, the band give a nod to the 'Who' on the closing track Won't Get Fooled Again. In a word, class!
This is ultra rare in this condition. It has been well looked after and I can guarantee that you will be very pleased with this item.
