This album is the eleventh, and first live album by Alison Krauss and Union Station.  All of the songs were recorded at the Louisville Palace in Louisville, Kentucky on April 29-30, 2002 except "Down to the River to Pray" which was performed at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Texas.  it was originally released on November 5, 2002.
At the 46th Grammy Awards held in February 2004, 'Live' won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, and the traditional song "Cluck Old Hen" won the Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
This particular Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Original Master Recording is one of the most sought-after titles among the hundreds of albums released by MoFi over the years.  Sealed unopened sets are extremely scarce.
