Description

OK, so I should have sold this while Sen. John Kerry was still campaigning as the 2004 Democratic nominee for President, like the other people who sold their copies on eBay last summer and fall.  But hey, if he had won, this record would have been worth a lot more, proving once again that procrastination pays!  But he didn't, and that's a good thing for you die-hard Kerry fans, because now you can pick up this vintage item for less!

I was 2 years behind Kerry at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH, where he and his buddies wowed us younger guys with their preppy version of a teenage garage band.  They were a lot tidier than today's teenage rockers, with combed hair and dark turtlenecks under their button-down shirts and blazers, but their sound wasn't bad!  Kerry played bass guitar - the cover notes writer called him "the producer of a pulsating rhythm that lends tremendous force to all the numbers."  Now why didn't we elect a guy with pulsating force to the White House?

Here's what's good about this album (besides the music, which really ain't half bad for a teenage band):  the album itself is in almost pristine shape (my attraction to the band soon wore off once I actually purchased the album, and I hardly ever played it.)  Here's what's not so good: the album cover is a little worn along the edges (what did you expect after 43 years?), and possessive young man that I was, I plastered my name on the front in bold magic marker.  But I figure that just contributes to the charm of the item - don't you agree?  (Besides, maybe I'll be famous one day, and the album will be worth even more!)
