VERY RARE AL BOWLLY RECORDING

Albert Allick "Al" Bowlly (7 January 1898 – 17 April 1941) was a popular Jazz guitarist, singer, and crooner in the United Kingdom and later in the United States of America during the 1930s, making more than 1,000 recordings between 1927 and 1941. Bowlly showcased a diverse range of material unsurpassed by any contemporary other than perhaps Bing Crosby. He was also a truly international recording artist. He was killed by the explosion of aparachute mine outside his flat in Duke's Court, 32 Duke Street, St James, London during the Blitz.

Anona Winn (born Anona Edna Wilkins, 5 January 1904-2 February 1994) was an Australian-born actress, broadcaster and singer, who spent most of her career in the UK 

The Masqueraders, alais The Savoy Orpheans were a British dance band of the 1920s. They were resident at the Savoy Hotel, London, between 1923 and 1927.

The Savoy Orpheans were probably one of the best-known bands in Europe", their very name personifies the Dancing Twenties … and their broad versatility … made this imprint in a way that no band had done before and few have achieved since

RECORD CONDITION AND GRADING CODES

E1    Plays like new.  Very few signs of handling apart from some slight scuff marks.

E2    As E1 but with some slight scratches as well as scuff marks. None of which effect playback.

E3    As E2 but with some slight surface noise present during quiet passasges, none of which seriously effect playback. Still an excellent copy.

V1    As E3 but with some increase in surface noise, and perhaps some slight surface wear.  Still a very playable copy.

V2    As V1 but with some surface wear and slight sound distortion in places on playback.  Mostly sounds OK though.
