About My Grading system:

I have been collecting records for 30 years and take this seriously, especially on Ebay where record grading is often unsatisfactory.    If there are marks or imperfections I list them.  Mint records are new, unplayed.  Near Mint records must be top-notch to receive that grade, with no scratches or marks on the vinyl.  My VG++  (EX) records are essentially clean and free of defects besides perhaps come slight sleeve marks, or 1 or 2 small marks that prevent the LP from being truly NM.

Some higher end LP’s are Play-graded on a VPI Scout w/ Grado Statement Sonata cartridge.  If an LP looks unplayed and dead Near Mint,  I don’t play grade.  However if an LP is between NM and VG+, I often will clean it on a VPI 16.5 using a combination of Disc Doctor fluids and Super Vinyl Wash.  I then play-grade it to be sure of condition.  Play graded LP’s will be noted in description.

A general note about grading LP’s:

I use the standard grading as defined by GOLDMINE.  But have added VG++  (EX)  because I feel there is a big difference between NM and VG+.  It appears as follows on their website.

Mint (M)   Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed (SS).

Near Mint (NM )   A nearly perfect record. Many dealers won't give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly)that no record is ever truly perfect.

The record should show no obvious signs of wear.

Basically, an LP in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap.

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) (EX)

Some light paper scuffs and perhaps 1 or 2 minimal small light scratches.  In general, if not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus-Plus (EX) record highly acceptable.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.

Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK".

Very Good (VG)

Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

I only sell records that are graded VG if they are extremely rare.

A NOTE ON SHIPPING AND PACKING

I package professionally, and ship items promptly.  Items are sent out within 1 to 2 days after payment is received.  Please take a minute to look at the post mark before you complain about shipping time.  International orders can get delayed in customs, so please keep this in mind when leaving feedback.

I ship records in professional LP packaging supplied from Sleeve city.  All LP's are placed outside of jackets and inside plastic mylar outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.  I do not make money on BS shipping and "Handling" charges.  I charge exactly what the United States Postal Service Charges (with tracking #), plus the actual cost of the record mailers.  This adds $1.00 to the total or $2.00 if international buyers want their LP's double boxed.  NOTE:  Double boxing adds some extra weight to items.

Please wait for shipping total on invoice before paying.

Multiple purchases can be combined for shipping.  Please contact me if you are bidding on multiple items and wish to wait before shipment.  I will hold your order until you are ready.

Single LP shipped domestically in mailer with cardboard filler weighs  roughly 1 pound 8 ounces.    1 LP shipped domestically by media mail is $4.00.  All combined orders are billed by actual weight/charges.  In other words, you buy 5 LP's and I combine the shipping, and charge the amount charged to me by the Post Office (plus one $1 for the mailer).

International Buyers – Please Note:

·     Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

·       Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

·       These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

·       We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
