THIS BOOK IS A UNIQUE FIND AND IT HAS AN EXCELLENT PROVENANCE!!

Last year I bought THE BEST danish collection of ORIGINAL Autographs, SIGNED Programs (an extremely rare original Louis Armstrong Concert Program from 1933!!, a Fats Waller Program from 1938, a Joe Venuti Program from 1934!!, a Jimmy Lunceford Program from 1937( signed!! ), an extremely rare Chubby Jackson & Group Concert Program from C. Jackson's FIRST concert ( 1948 ) with his new Be-Bop band, plus rare programs from the fifties etc.etc.), Jazz books, Jazz magazines, Records and other Memorabilia from an old friends estate ( he died 91 years old in 2005; he began to collect Jazz memorabilia in 1928!! ). Among the many priceless items in his collection, there was this UNIQUE Jazz book: The Jazz Record Book by Charles Edward Smith, New York, 1944. 8vo. 515 pages. The book itself is not a rarity, BUT, on page 4, the book is signed by 10 members of Don Redman's Bopband in 1946, and signed by 3 members of Rex Stewart's band in 1947. The book is ORIGINAL autographed ( in "old" dark-blue ink ) by "PEANUTS" HOLLAND, PETE CLARKE, BOB WILLIAMS, BILLY TAYLOR, DON REDMAN, CHAUNCEY HAUGHTON, TYREE GLENN, BUFORD OLIVER, DON BYAS, JACKIE CARMAN ( all members of Don Redman's band ); and ORIGINAL autographed ( in pale blue ink ) by DON GAIS, BILL HOUSTON jr and TED CURLEY?? from Rex Stewart's band. Don Redman's band visited Denmark in September 1946 and Rex Stewart's band visited Copenhagen in November 1947. My old friend attended the concerts, and there he got the book autographed by the members of the bands ( SOME OF THE AUTOGRAPHS ARE EXTREMELY RARE!!!!! ). The lucky winner gets ( as a gift ) a photocopy of my old friends original Concert Program from the Don Redman concerts in K.B.Hallen in Copenhagen in September 1946 ( I own the original Program ). The book is in a very good condition in a tight black binding with white and clean pages, there is a small split at the spine. The spine is slightly faded and there is a tiny 1 inch tape-repair at the bottom of page 4 and page 5. I am very conservative when I grade, please read my feedback!! The pale reddish color on some of my photos and the blurred photos are due ONLY to the bad quality of my camera, THE PAGES ARE WHITE AND THE AUTOGRAPHS ARE BRIGHT AND CLEAR!!
