This first pressing plays with 'as new' audio from start to finish. A big statement to make but I am confident in my grading standards by now! Having played every track in full I can confidently say the clarity, definition and power of the audio is second to none. I have sold 5/6 of these down the years but never one as stunning as this. I only 'heard' a handful of super quiet background statics and half a second of very quiet static which does not qualify as interference! No ticks, clicks or pops anywhere. This is easily a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing and with barely any spindle wear and a stunning visual appearance it is obvious this vinyl has hardly been played. It truly is a stunning example.
The E.J. Day cover is in excellent condition with only a number on the back the most noticeable thing. It has held its original shape and structure perfectly and is very clean. The original inner is also in excellent condition.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a pristine glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a very small number of ultra faint hairlines that are purely superficial of course. The run outs grooves are very clean and the Pegasus labels are near perfect with only a couple of faint spindle traces on S2.
Play Grading
The intro on 'Breakthrough' plays with perfect clarity and French's opening vocal is just as strong and clear. From then on every vocal and instrumental section, with Crane's piano work very much in evidence, play with stunning quality. There is no background whatsoever and it just could not play any better. There's a quieter section towards the end but there is not so much as a dust tick. It also has a long fade out but again no intrusion. This is Mint from start to finish.
The quiet build up / intro on 'Break The Ice' plays beautifully with literally no background and the opening vocal is of the same standard. It continues to play with impeccable quality - this album is not as heavy as the previous one and that in part is probably due to Cann having less influence on the writing. In saying that the instrumental sections are still very strong and dynamic and this track is no exception. The remainder plays with stunning precision and Mint is again deserved.
The gentle intro on 'Decision / Indecision' has only a couple of minor statics, the clarity is incredible when you think how quiet it is, and the first vocal is even better! This clarity of sound is indeed prevalent throughout - just half a second of minor static near the end but the sonic quality here truly is outstanding. Mint-
'A Spoonful Of Bromide...' ends S1 in stunning fashion with audio of the highest calibre. The powerful mid section is a case in point and the closing section also. Exceptional audio! Immense power and no distortion. Even the brief silent moment right at the end has no background. This entire instrumental plays with such depth and resonance and I have no hesitation in grading it as Mint
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Black Snake' has another quiet intro and again you cannot fault the clarity, so clean and clinical. There are a couple of minor statics as Hammond comes in and then the opening vocal plays perfectly. It continues to play with such quality, each note so clean and precise and no interference. Audio does not get any better than this! It's a quiet number and yet the clarity is STUNNING. I am sure many would say Mint but I will grade it as Mint- just to be safe :-)
'Head In The Sky' is a lot more powerful and you can tell it was written by Cann. The intro is magnificent! The opening vocal is on the same level and the long mid instrumental is just superb, incredible power, depth and clarity. The remainder is just as dynamic and this is unquestionably the finest version I have ever heard. 'As new' sums it perfectly, this is MINT with a capital M!
'The Rock', another instrumental, plays with exceptional audio with no sign of any interference. Wonderful depth and warm, Mint all the way. Even the fade out is perfect.
'The Price' ends the album with genuine quality once more. The entire intro is 'as new' as is the opening vocal section. There is no inner groove distortion and it continues in the same way. No background, just pure clean audio throughout. No need to prevaricate this is Mint from start to finish with. What an album!
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in excellent condition with very little wear. In fact the only obvious 'wear' is a number written on the back cover, not sure what it relates to! Aside from that the edges and wide spine are in superb shape with barely any rubbing and the corners are very clean also. The opening edge has only a couple of minor 'crimps' and the front cover is near perfect with just one small mark near the bottom edge and a tiny corner crease top left. The back cover has a corresponding small crease in the top right corner and that number. The inside of the gatefold is in immaculate condition with no marking. A superb example overall.
The original die-cut inner has no side splits or tears, barely any marking and minimal creasing. It also has that same 'catalogue number' in one corner.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
