ARZACHEL Same (Vogue Germany 1969) Original First Press.
Basically, Steve Hillage together with Egg, otherwise known as Uriel, recorded a bespoke psychedelic LP for the owner of Zel records. It should have been like any other exploito LP (rushed, cheap and inauthentic) but this time the band clearly relished the task and produced a brilliant psychedelic masterpiece. Side one has shorter structured songs, including the transendental 'Garden Of Earthly Delights', one of the crown jewels of British psychedelia in my book. But all the tracks on side one are great. Side two has just two long less structured psychedelic explorations, where all kinds of unearthly and weird happenings occur as they visit both outer and inner space. This LP is the first German pressing on Vogue from 1970 and it was later re-released on Roulette/Bellaphon in 1972. So this is the first German pressing and generally regarded as the best pressing of this LP.
Grading
Vinyl: VG++ light scuffs under bright light, no scratches, a little occasional surface noise. Nice copy.
Sleeve: VG+ some age wear on back as seen, laminated front nice and shiny with deep colour and just a ding to bottom right corner - see last pic.
Grading
M- As new, no marks of any kind whatsoever.
EX Perhaps a few featherlight whispy marks, but no scratches or deterioration in sound
VG+ Some light marks on the vinyl, but nothing that should cause clicks or pops, just occasional light surface noise.
VG Some heavier marks and maybe a few scratches that will cause some noise, but will still be a very enjoyable listen with definitely no sticks or skips or constant surface noise.
