Like other members of the Rock in Opposition movement, Art Zoyd fuse progressive rock and jazz with contemporary classical music and like fellow RIO member Univers Zéro, they are also influenced by French Zeuhl bands such as Magma.
Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités is comprised of five tracks - three making up the song cycle that gives the album its title and two from a cycle entitled "Deux Images De La Cité Imbécile".
This is avant--prog-jazz at its finest - busy, dynamic, challenging, and often strangely ambient punctuated by eery chanting

An immaculate pair of labels with no spindle traces or signs of use
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces shine like-new and apart from a small cluster of pressing blemishes on Side One it looks like it was pressed yesterday
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Great sound quality - crystal clear and bright but similar to all privately pressed records the playback is not pristine and there are random clicks/pops (nothing continuous - no scratches) caused by the cluster of marks mentioned above (but nothing which bothered me at all) and apart from these the rest of the record plays practically MINT - lovely copy of this incredibly rare original pressing
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD++
The sleeve is very thin and flat and the laminated front retains a deep glossy sheen. There is general light wear to the edges, pressure from the record on the top seam (not split through), some laminate lift on the opening edge and some light marks to the untreated back but saying all this it is still in fine shape
