This is an original 1969 UK first pressing the TOTALLY UNKNOWN masterpiece BREATHE AWHILE by ARCADIUM on Middle Earth records. It is a real shame that this band are not household names because this LP aught to be as well known as Dark side of the moon by Floyd as it is simply one of the best albums of all time. Known only to Progressive rock fans and the most serious record collectors and that is just a very sad fact. Albums like Breathe Awhile and Unchained by Elias Hulk (check my other auctions) are evidence of the Old Grey Whistle Test`s incompetence at unearthing emerging music. OLD AND GREY that`s exactly how I remember it.It seemed to me they always played it safe and so much top quality music like this fell through the cracks for evermore.
The sleeve : This fully laminated sleeve is the best I have ever seen as close to mint as you can get its only flaw is a tiny laminate gap top left corner. The spine is outstanding and all the spinal writings are in great order and fully readable. You would be very hard pressed to find a better sleeve. The sleeve is MINT MINUS.
The labels to both sides are spotlessly clean no writing anywhere just immaculate. The vinyl to side one has the highest luster sheen like a new record. A few very light hairlines but there is a mark on track 1 about an inch long and this causes light clicks with each revolution of the disc for about 30 or 40 seconds. Following that the entire side plays superbly.
Side 2 has an impeccable sheen, there are some extremely light hair lines under a bright light ,but again there is a mark on track 1 about 2 cmm long but this causes no problem at all and side 2 plays superbly. The album plays right through without jumping or sticking. The album is graded as VERY GOOD PLUS . The album plays much better I have graded it down due to the clicks. The Vinyl is graded as VERY GOOD PLUS.
