Beautiful limited hand-numbered edition of 500 (#167) copies double LP set that bundles the complete Topic recordings of legendary UK folk spirit Anne Briggs and functions as a great compliment to Bo’Weavil’s Shirley Collins re-issue program. Briggs was the most emotionally-blasted performer to come out of the whole 1960s folk revival and her bleak, unaccompanied readings of tracks like “Lowlands” and “Polly Vaughn” remain definitive and possessed of a unique, binding magic. Bundles The Hazards Of Love EP, scattered compilation appearances and the whole of her Topic LP. Comes in the label’s usual heavy Folkways-style sleeve with a booklet that includes new and original liners and lyrics. Mint/Unplayed . Very desirable OOP set.
