Beautiful, Rare Original U.S. ANN RICHARDS LP:
"THE MANY MOODS OF ANN RICHARDS"

Great female vocal LP by the late torch singer ANN RICHARDS. This was her first solo LP and was released in 1960. Known for her “uniqueness of expression”, she had a big voice and was a better singer than often given credit for. The liner notes say “she can swing, she can belt, she can interpret a soul-searching torch song”. Ann Richards was married to Stan Kenton, and once appeared in PLAYBOY Magazine in an article titled “Ann, Man! Kenton’s Canary Sheds Her Feathers For Playboy”. Ann took her own life in 1982 at age 46.
The material on this LP is an unusual choice of tunes, consisting of songs often overlooked by other performers. This is a great record, and one which is quite sought after and very rare. The record is in great shape, and looks as though it has hardly ever been played. The vinyl is clean, shiny, and still retains most of its original gloss and luster. Even under a bright lamp, I cannot see anything other than a tiny bit of very light surface rubbing, which may be from sliding the record inside the cover a couple of times. There are no scratches- I doubt a nicer copy of the record exists. The cover has some wear, a 4” top seam split, light sticker residue on the back cover and an “All Sales Final” stamp on the back cover. It looks a lot better than most 45+ year old LP covers. The cover is still very sturdy, the colors are vivid, and it is absolutely stunning to look at.This also still contains its original CAPITOL FULL DIMENSIONAL STEREO inner sleeve, which is incredibly rare.
All LPs come packaged carefully in a sturdy corrugated box made specifically for mailing LPs plus a cardboard insert. The covers are placed in clear plastic record sleeves. The vinyl is removed from the cover (except for SEALED items) for shipping to prevent seam splitting during shipment.
