MEGA RARE ANDY WARHOL ART ON THE COVER

3 drawings from Andy; two on the front and one on the back (see photos).
VERY heavy vinyl; VERY thin, fragile paper cover.
.
LP was distributed by Doubleday publishers in 1953 - a mail-order item never available in retail stores.
This record is extremely rare as featured in the book: Andy Warhol - The Record Covers 1949-1987.

One of Warhol's earliest ever commercial pieces, with only a couple of other commissions
(for Columbia Records) preceding it.

It was one of 2 volumes produced and sent, often  separately, that both shared the same artwork. This one on auction: Record 2, shows up much less often; though both are extremely scarce, being of such fragile construction and holding such a heavy vinyl for nearly 50 years - besides being made for language lessons; not something that most people thought to keep past the time of its use.

This is one of the heaviest slabs of VINYL I have ever held -and I've handled tens of thousands of LPs since the early 1970's. The COVER, conversely is one of the thinnest I have ever seen. This inevitably results in split edges. Luckily these splits are clean, with no paper loss at any of the edges. A few tiny edge tears in white border have been closed up from inside with very small strips of the same acid-free tape.

The only missing paper is a tiny (3 millimeter x 3 1/2 millimeter - or half pea-size) surface tear in upper background (not in any of the 3 Warhol illustrations) that I carefully touched up with the exact color (chilli red) of Derwar's inktense retouching pencil. You can hardly tell it's there.
*I've done document repair and art touch-up professionally since the 1980's;
these minor repairs are very clean and precise.

A VERY RARE PIECE OF EARLIEST WARHOL HISTORY.

.
Disc housed inside an anti-static, rice paper inner sleeve.
Album kept in a protective, poly outer-sleeve.
Protective 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" white backing board behind cover.

Collectible, Vintage 1960's Psych LPs.

My LP packing is considered to be among the very best on eBay!
I would have it no other way.

All records packed with vinyl (inside inner sleeve) behind cover - and shipped in strong LP mailer boxes with bubble-wrap around all sides - sandwiched between stiff corrugated flats for best protection in the mail.
.
Please be aware that these important supplies add to my shipping costs - of which only a small fraction is covered in the shipping charge.

SHIPPING RATES

.
USA
Media Mail: $4.00

Most of my customers prefer Media Mail because it is very cheap. Sometimes it can arrive cross-country in 5 days - sometimes (very rarely) it takes a month. Due to Postal Service conditions, the actual arrival time cannot be known in advance.
Additional LPs in same shipment: $1.00 each
Combine buys to save on shipping!
.
ALL OTHER COUNTRIES
I charge EXACT POSTAGE only, Worldwide.
NOTE:
All packages above 4 Lbs (5-6 or more LPs) can NOT ship by the low 1ST CLASS International rate.
These must go by higher (but faster) PRIORITY or EXPRESS INTERNATIONAL RATES.
I will ALWAYS offer you choices
-the LOWEST rate that US Postal system allows - plus the FASTER, but higher rate.
.
*PLEASE do not ask me to mark the item as a 'GIFT' for customs. Unfortunately, I cannot.
The postal clerks know better; I ship LPs constantly (over 30 years) and cannot fool them.

I ship as soon as I receive cleared payment and treat ALL
my customers and their records with the greatest respect.
.
I pack LPs to survive even the worst conditions the postal systems can hand out.
You will LOVE my LP packing!
