Description

This is the very rare 1956 Epic LP Chopin: Nocturnes vol. 2 played by Jan Smeterlin, LC 3152. The fragile cover drawing of lilies and fireflies is one of Warhol's finest.

There are three different versions regarding the colors in which the title 'Chopin: Nocturnes' is written:

Vol. 1: Blue letters 
Vol. 2: Green letters (This auction)
The two LP's in one box: Red letters

Cover: Warhol cover in great condition, glossy front, though a bit yellowed from age. Usual wear & tear and discoloration at corners and seams. Traces of removed price sticker at front, top left (no damage to the artwork). Seams partly fortified with cellophane tape at the back. Stamp and small writing on back cover.  

LP: slightly pops and crackles from age, still a joy to listen to this beautiful performance by Jan Smeterlin.
