Kingston singer Horace Andy arrived at Studio One with a tone so airy and quivering it later became a hallmark of Massive Attack's earliest records and his debut LP Skylarking shows where that spell first gripped hold. Cut in 1972 with Coxsone Dodd's crew, the album folds in earlies such as 'Just Say Who', 'See A Man's Face' and 'Every Tongue Shall Tell', each revealing the magic grain in Andy's voice that would reshape lovers rock, roots reggae and Bristol trip-hop years later. The title bit sits at the centre of the LP, tracing the mix of vulnerability and certainty he would lean on throughout the 70s.
