"WORLD'S END"

On offer here, from my own collection, is an original 1970 uk first pressing, on the Reflection black and silver label, catalogue number REF.L6 stereo, of the superb and ultra rare second Andwella LP "World's End" . This legendary late 60's British psych group were formerly known as Andwella's Dream.  The LP is housed in it's original matt-textured gatefold sleeve, with song lyrics printed on the inside. The record comes with the blue and white poly-lined inner sleeve that came with the first pressing. This copy does not have a poster that came with some copies.

Great psych / prog album with some expansive lush orchestral arrangements as the band moved into a more progressive jazzy rock sound (at times like early Traffic) whilst the superb electric guitar, cool keyboards and flutes float and interplay above these arrangements making a quite unique sound, especially on tracks like "I Got A Woman" , "Shadow Of The Night" and the instrumental track "Michael Fitzhenry". The whole album is quality stuff indeed. A very highly recommended LP and very rare as an original UK pressing!

CONDITION

Gatefold Sleeve: Near Excellent

The thick matt-textured gatefold sleeve, "Printed in England by West Brothers, London", is near EX condition. There are a few tiny sticker peels on the front upper right (see picture 7). The rear has a few light scuff marks and some very minor creasing on the lower right side near the open out edge. The open out edge and seams have some little scuffs, creases and rubbing, mainly near the spine, nothing serious (see picture 9). The inside of the gatefold has the song lyrics printed and is excellent virtually unmarked condition, very little wear indeed, the spine is straight and fully readable. There are NO tears, NO rips and NO unwanted writing on the sleeve.

Clean and Unmarked with NO stickers and NO writing...There are a few spindle traces evident.

Vinyl: VG (+) near Excellent

(Plays Superbly)

The early 70's super thick heavy vinyl retains it's full gloss and lustre. Disc is strictly graded as VG + near excellent.....a few spindle marks to both sides. There are a few very light non-audible feint surface marks and little hairlines, mainly on side two, can be seen in bright light.....cosmetic only! The LP has been played quite a few times, by myself from new, but not heavily played. There are a couple of stylus marks near the beginning of the first track on side two 'World's End 1' where you can hear some very feint little 'ticks' just for a few seconds, nothing too intrusive or serious. Like to mention it though. The whole record plays excellently throughout with loud crystal clear sound. As stated the vinyl does show a few wispy hairlines, but sounds great when listening to it with headphones on!!  The record has NO jumps, NO sticks, NO skips, nothing that will spoil your enjoyment of this classic psych/ prog album. Overall a very nice original uk pressing of this very scarce album which is so difficult to find these days.

Records Are Graded In The Following Way:

MINT (M): The record displays barely any signs of use, if any, with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Extra items and cover are near perfect.

EXCELLENT (EX): Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD (VG): Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD (G): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

+ or - : Indicates slightly better (+) or slightly lesser (-) condition than main grade

Packing Procedures: All 12" / LPs are securely and well packed in top quality material to avoid any unnecessary damage during transit. When posted the records are removed from the cover, if possible, and placed in a PVC outer protective sleeve to prevent sleeve splits in the post. I use brand new mailers, either the envelope style with thick stiffeners to prevent any sleeve bends in transit, or the "cruciform" style that wrap around the LP. I aim to dispatch all items within 48 hours of receiving payment. It is recommended that you choose the insurance option for higher value items. As stated above I cannot be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in the post that are not shipped via insured / registered mail. I always obtain a certificate proof of posting receipt for every item sent, which will complete our transaction.
