Very rare late 50's recording, record/book from Andre Popp, children's record about the world of sounds, featuring some innovative instruments like Vincent Geminiani's Bronte or the ondes Martenot.

This is the 1st original and ONLY pressing of this rather unknown but brilliant avant-garde album...one of the unknown hidden treasures of the Andre Popp & Lasry/Baschet discographies. Possibly a 1957 release, but NO information at all on the cover(the date of 1957 i found on the internet)!! Beautiful illustrated book/record package intended for the children's market in their education concerning new musical instruments, but hiding some unique experimental(not electronic) sounds from any experimental instrument found in France at that time. Between the instruments used for this album ones finds the Ondes Martenot, the Orgues de Cristal (Structures Sonores Lasry-Baschet), the Bronte (the unique instrument made by Vincent Geminiani and used in his Modern Pop Percussion album), the synthesizer, the magnetic tape, the mellotron, the electric accordeon, the electric piano, the guitar wah-wah, the "chromatic" harmonica, the sitar and many others.

The Baschet Structures Sonores have been used in compositions by Andres Lewin-Richter, Ravi Shankar, Toru Takemitsu, and Jacques, Yvonne, and Teddy Lasry; they compare to the sound sculpture and homemade instrument work of Max Neuhaus, Harry Partch, Z'ev, Donald Knaack, Harry Bertoia, Alvin Lucier, Paul Panhuysen, Bill Fontana, etc. Jacques Lasry also released an lp on the legendary Patchwork French library label. Teddy Lasry was a member of French prog group Magma."(courtesy of keymap records)  Very rare, get this now!! Not very far from the musical world of artists like DJ Premier, Ondioline, Oskar Sala, Enoch Light and of course Jean-Michel Jarre, Paul Beaver, Bernie Krause, Aphex Twin and Jean-Jacques Perrey, Gershon Kingsley, Hrvatski and Dick Hyman, Raymond Scott, Bruce Haack and instruments like Arp or Theremin, NEVER seen on ebay!! 

Condition: Vinyl lies in very good- condition, shows it has been played quite a lot, with lots of marks on both sides. Cover lies in excellent condition showing very gentle usage (see photo).
