On offer here, from my own collection, is this rare original 1977 Vinyl Records Stereo pressing vinyl LP.

Led by saxophonist / composer Trevor Watts, Amalgam started out in the late 1960s as an avant-garde jazz / free jazz ensemble that operated in parallel with John Stevens' electric jazz band Away. Saxophonist / Composer Trevor Watts is one of those people who follows his own instincts and interests when it comes to music - he has absolutely no time for compromises or fashion statements. In a way, Watts’ avoidance of pigeonholes has perpetuated his stay in the musical underground. He helped establish a distinctly British style of free improvisation in the mid-60s. From his work with Amalgam, he could also lay claim to being one of the first to utilize electric guitar and electric bass creatively in freely improvised music. "Deep" features Trevor Watts on alto sax, Dave Cole on electric guitar, Harry Miller on bass and Liam Genockey on drums. Recorded on November 17th of 1977 at Riverside Studios in London. Those interested in risky, pioneering, no-holds-barred free improvised jazz would do well to check out "Deep". Incredible stuff!
