Description


THE BAND Albatroz, whose formation included the founders Jean Sarbib (guitar, ex-Quinteto Académico), André Sarbib (keyboards, ex Group 5) and Pedro Taveira (drums, ex Pentagon), Rui "Pipas" Silva single from the project, "It Could Happen / Sixty Years On." The quartet was rightly considered a supergroup (the first of the national Portuguese rock) soon after its formation, given the technical quality of the musicians involved and the mediatism of the bands they had integrated. Although stylistically the Albatroz were closer to the Psychedelic groups of the West Coast, the notorious influences of Jimmi Hendrix, Iron Butterfly and Cream left no doubt as to their musical roots. However, the quartet lives a rather ephemeral existence.
