AL GREEN "Let’s Stay Together" LP Genuine Hi Records GOLD RECORD AWARD.

NOT A REISSUE OR MODERN REPRODUCTION!

Al Green’s Classic "LET’S STAY TOGETHER" is the title of this LP on Hi Records HLP 8007.

This Authentic Vintage GOLD RECORD was awarded to TOM AMBROSE RAY who was head of London Records West Coast Promotions. Issued to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the album on Hi Records, a subsidiary of LONDON Records.

Mounted inside a black wooden frame with beveled edges accented by a golden inner frame and covered with protective plexi-glass, it measures 17 inches wide by 21 inches high. Backside has a saw-tooth hanging bracket at top edge and is covered with protective paper. The original silvered sticker identifies the company that made the award. DEJAY PRODUCTS of Burbank, Calif. was often the choice by the music industry to manufacture custom awards. The sticker is of special note as it shows the phone number with the old 213 area code, which at one time many years ago covered the entire Greater Los Angeles area as well as much of southern California. Burbank had its area code changed to 818 about 25 years ago. This small detail reinforces the authenticity of the item.
