NISYAN / LA - YA - HOB ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by AHMED FAKROUN (mispelt FAKRUN on this release). Original Italian pressing on POLYDOR label (2060 154), from 1977. Outstanding double-sider by the cult Libyan singer / song-writer and accomplished musician. An obscure italian-only release that, for us, is even better than his Auidny single from the same year. No doubt quite experimental for the Rai pop lover of  '77 but such intoxicating and seductive arrangements with clever overdubs / piano / groovy guitars / bugged-out ethnic percussion et al. If you seek mellow balearic disco with trippy vocals and stoned funky rhythms, then this one will slay you ;) NISYAN is the side with the hypnotic drum machine / Donna Summer inspired bassline cum mellow Tim Maia vibe. LA YA HOB gets even more spaced-out with prominent Arabic motifs. Fakroun could have easily played all the infectious basslines you hear too ;) Big record with certain DJs and collectors. Booming production sound. NISYAN was comped on La Torre Volumen Uno and both trax appear on an anthology of his work on the Austrian PMG label. That said, neither are any match for our vintage Italian OG with tres cool sleeve artwork :) Top copy, item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played a couple of times before the recording of the soundclip. Very rare 45!!!   

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG arabic rai lebanon eastern oriental

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a few hairlines / faint scuffs from sleeve removal / storage. Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. A couple of soft pops to the "Nisyan" side (as you can hear on our soundclip). Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played a couple of times before the recording of the soundclip. Archive number in pen to label. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) regardless of some ring creasing and light corner wear. Archive number in pen to top and bottom of the open side (front and back) Very rare 45!!! middle-eastern world music arab habibi
