AFTER ALL – After All. Out-Sider/Guerssen OSR 006. Spanish release. FACTORY SEALED VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Originally issued in 1969 on Athena Records. This remastered edition issued in 2013. Pressed on 180g vinyl and includes a linernote insert. MEMBERS:  Bill Moon, Mark Ellerbee, Alan Gold, and Charles Short. DESCRIPTION:   Top level psych/prog dominated by Hammond organ / guitar plus explosive drumming. Here’s a welcome new reissue in original artwork plus remastered sound, insert with liner notes, and 180g vinyl. "Overlooked but pretty good moody late 1960s organ & guitar psych-rock with a Doors influence. The album is dominated by an unusual creeping menace a la Freeborne..."  Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives). After coming together as a group in 1968, the four members from Tallahassee Florida decided to grab an opportunity for a one shot deal for a limited time in the studio to see if they could produce an album. It was a thrown together impromptu outing that turned into a viable LP of post psychedelic art-rock. As off the cuff as this entire project started out, they ended up pushing the musical envelope and creating a full blown early progressive rock masterpiece. Perhaps the sense of urgency produced an atmosphere of spontaneity that helped them along. Bill Moon on vocals, sounded just like David Clayton Thomas of Blood, Sweat & Tears fame. All folks that are into early BST, Chicago, and early progressive rock will find this to be a fascinating collection of songs covering an amalgam of rock, classical, jazz, and free form cross-bred style of rock music. After All was originally released in 1969 by Athena Records. The group had envisioned creating a concept album by throwing together a variety of the era's newest styles, from acid and classical rock to structural complexity and surreal lyrics. To help with the latter, they enlisted a young local poet, Linda Hargrove, to provide the lyrics to most of the songs. The band knew a Nashville producer who was willing to record a "spec album" for them at no cost, provided they did it quickly, so they entered the studio in 1969 and recorded After All in a couple days. Following the release of the album, the instrumentalists returned to Florida and took up their respective careers again. Hargrove, on the other hand, remained in Nashville and carved out a fine, if under-recognized, career for herself as a country singer/songwriter and performer (Her most well known song to me is Tennessee Whiskey as recorded by David Allen Coe in 1981 and George Jones in 1983 [both versions are worth owning]). She issued albums on Elektra and Capitol in the 70s before her conversion, after which she issued 2 gospel albums and a 2007 secular mix before passing away in 2010.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

RETURN POLICY:

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country.
