Description

Here it is, and in MINT condition: THE FIRST AFI 7" entitled "Behind the Times E.P." and released in 1993 on their own Key Lime Pie records (which was owned by Geoff, the bass player). This is one the FIRST PRESSING on TRANSLUCENT BLACK VINYL (It’s black, yes, but put it under a light and you will see through it!) (SEE PICTURE!) with original picture sleeve. Only 400 of the first pressing were ever made so it's VERY RARE! An even more rare second pressing of 100 exists and were pressed a few months later on opaque black vinyl (that you can’t see through under a light). AFI made the second pressing because it had about 100 extra covers sitting around in there warehouse since all covers weren’t ready for the first pressing so some were issued with a rebate that customers could exchange for a real covers at upcoming A.F.I. shows but many fans didn’t care and didn’t ask for their covers. Etched in the dead wax of this record, you can read: "U-35344M-A" and "U-35344M-B", proving this is an original of A.F.I.'s FIRST RECORD! I know, they released a split 7" entitled "Dork" with another band called Loo$e Change before but this one is truly the first "AFI-only" release! Great fast and original hardcore! A.F.I. weren't even "East Bay Hardcore" by then as they were originaly from Ukiah, California! By then, AFI was Davey Havok (whose real name is David Marchand) on Vocals, Mark Blackwelder on Guitar, Adam Carson on Drums and Geoff Kresge on Bass. The band broke up after this 7" and re-united for one show during the christmas holidays of 1993 and that made them want to restart the band... you know what happens next... many 7"'s and LP's and now they just signed on a major and are heralded as the "next big thing" even by magazines like Rolling Stone! Track listing: 1. Who said you could touch me ? 2. Rolling Balls 3. Highschool Football Hero 4. Rizzo in the Box 5. Cereal Wars 6. Born in the U.S. of A. This one was recorded at City of Light Records and Sound and Produced by Keith Gaudette & The Idiots. Record and sleeve in MINT condition(SEE PICTURE!). You won't find many of them now, especialy inn such good condition! A MUST-HAVE for any SERIOUS A.F.I. fan! Buyer to pay shipping. Pay by money order, PayPal or cashier’s check .
