Description

Up for auction is a rare, original US pressing (Paramount PAS 5027) of AFFINITY's incredible, self-titled debut album. It has the original grey Paramount labels, and it has a beautiful gatefold cover. The words "NOT FOR SALE PROMOTION USE ONLY" are imprinted on the cover. In addition, the disc is still housed in its original plain white inner sleeve. This is an absolutely beautiful copy.

Affinity's self-titled album is one of the greatest and most sought-after progressive rock albums of all-time. It features the incredible voice of Linda Hoyle, as well as plenty of powerful, swirling keys from Lynton Naiff and Mike Jopp's heavy guitar solos. The beautiful cover artwork was designed by the famed artist Marcus Keef (many people consider this to be his greatest work). Every progressive and psychedelic rock music fan should have a copy of this great LP in their music library.

As journalist and label expert Barry 'Mr. Vertigo' Winton recently noted in an article in Record Collector magazine, "Affinity remain especially popular with Vertigo collectors: Since my first article on the label - which appeared some 20 years ago - their album has gone up in value by some 1000%." UK pressings of Affinity's self-titled LP regularly sell for over $300 dollars. This is a great opportunity to purchase an original US pressing of this wonderful album at a significant discount. It would certainly make a tidy investment piece.
