CAROLINE PEYTON SEALED LP

INTUITION

BAR B Q RECORDS # 8

Original United States pressing of this unusual obscurity of a record album.  Released in 1977, this is the second album by Caroline Peyton, pressed on the tiny “Bar B Q” record label out of Bloomington, Indiana.

This album is reviewed favorably on page 256 of “The Acid Archives Second Edition” by Patrick Lundborg.  Patrick writes, “Peyton’s second album is a vast improvement, with a full band, a remake of an excellent Screaming Gypsy Bandits song, some dreamy folk-pop, and cover photos that show her to be the cutest hippie in history.  A few songs veer towards funk and disco, in a reasonably convincing way.  It’s clear that her heart is in some sort of sell-out attempt (she’d succeed many years later, becoming a voice in many Disney films, and releasing a Celtic Christmas album), but still this is a decent record with likable moments for both folk and funk fans”.

Although it did not originally come with the LP, there is an insert included that talks about private Folk artists and mentions Caroline Peyton.

COVER: The only thing keeping this cover from grading a strong VG+ is a thin 2 inch top center seam split.

VINYL: The record is very nicely preserved and looks like it has had little play.  It grades NM.

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.

With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.

All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, The Great Escape gives an "overall presentation" grade; we do not give a "listening" grade. Our vinyl listings are supplemented when necessary with additional remarks. For example: where some dealers will not allow a cut corner on an otherwise near mint jacket (often automatically relegating it to a VG+ at best), we may grade such a record as NM and note the cut-out mark (thereby letting you know what it "really" looks like: a near-perfect record with a cut corner). LPs are graded cover first, followed by the grade for the vinyl.

We describe all items to the best of our ability and knowledge, and we image everything that is included for each listing. If you have any questions regarding a description or pictures, please contact us for help.
