Release details : 1977 1st Australian pressing on the black ALBERT label … the kangaroo icon had been dropped at this stage .. ( Cat. No.# AP-11548 ~ Stereo )
Condition :
VINYL ~ Very little lead-in hiss here, no spindle marks to speak of and it certainly has minimal play wear. A more than acceptable copy for this rarity and Graded a VG+, perhaps a touch better to be honest as it sounds awesome.
SLEEVE ~ It comes in it's perfect & original Australian EMI cover ( no picture sleeve was issued with this release in Australia ).
Description :
Of all the early Australian Acca Dacca 45's with Bon Scott this is one that eludes most collectors. Perhaps the idea of splitting the song into 2 parts didn't quite work out here as most fans would've grabbed the album and the thought of having to flip over a single to hear all of it wasn't that appealing…. and the unexpectedly poor record sales supported this view.
That is why this 45 rarely surfaces and this is as good a copy you could expect to find without having to pay an arm and a leg to get it. In fact any copy of this is more likely to less than EX as we weren't always that careful with our singles back then as it was ( 25+ years ago ) than alone rushing to the turntable and turning this one over in record time to finish the song… a certain recipe for damage if ever there was one.
Fortunately this copy plays better than you could hope for. Despite some light scuffs it tracks through great on both sides .. with Bon belting it out and Angus ripping into it … simply superb.
