Description

After being an avid music collector for over thirty years, I've decided to downscale somewhat. So in the coming months I'll be listing an abundance of records, cd's, tour programmes, genuine autographed items, tour t-shirts, magazines and other memorabilia from my own personal collection.

 

AC/DC - Highway To Hell - Vinyl LP - ULTRA-RARE ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN BLUE ALBERT LABEL 1979

Albert / APLP-040 / 1979 / Australia

A beautiful, ultra-rare, genuine first pressing of AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" on the Australian Albert label (original dark blue with yellow outer) with the rare, alternate sleeve. Released in 1979, this is extremely hard to find nowadays - particularly in this excellent condition - I've seen these regularly sell in the region of £100!!

Condition

Vinyl : NM-   Visually, the vinyl is in fantastic, near-mint condition and still retains it's new, original sheen. It plays really well with only the faintest hint of surface noise. The labels are mint with no spindle wear whatsoever - I suspect this copy was unplayed before I play tested it - or certainly has only been played one or two times.

Sleeve : EX   The sleeve is in excellent condition overall. It does have the odd minor flaw which I've tried to show in the photos below. The spine is very nice - it has a couple of very light creases but they are hardly noticeable. There are a couple of creases in both bottom corners which I've shown in photo 5. The four corners of the sleeve are very nice & sharp with only the very bare minimum of wear - which you can see in the photos. There is a British import sticker on the back in the top right corner. Overall, an excellent example of this rare & unique sleeve.

 

 

Record Collector Grading System

Mint (M):  Record shows no evidence of having been played. Vinyl/sleeve in perfect, brand new condition. No secondhand records can make this grade.

Near Mint (NM):  Record shows little sign of having been played. Vinyl/sleeve is in superb condition.  My highest grade for secondhand vinyl.

Excellent (EX):  Record has been played a few times but has been well looked after. Vinyl has the odd light surface mark but there is no significant lessening of sound quality. Sleeve may have some slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG):  Record has been played a number of times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite some visible marks / mild scratches. Any surface noise is occassional, light and unobtrusive. Sleeve will have some normal wear and tear without any major defects.

Good (G):  While the record still plays OK, the vinyl will have a lot of surface marks/ light scratches and there is regular and noticeable surface noise. Sleeve and contents will suffer from folding, scuffing and/ or edge splits, discoloration etc.

Fair (F):  Vinyl will have scratches and jump etc. Records in this condition will be collection-fillers only. The sleeve has major tears, staining etc.

 

*All records are packed in professional mailers with stiffeners & will be removed from their sleeves to prevent seam-splits in transit.
