Rare 5" Album

w/ ANNOUNCEMENT: Unprecedented Event

Yellow Magic Orchestra (abbreviated as YMO) is a Japanese electronic music band. Solid State Survivor, released in 1979, was YMO's pinnacle recording in Japan.

This is a rare "The YMO Micro Sampler" released in 1980 on A&M Records. The stereo 33 1/3 RPM record measures 5" Diameter, and is in Mint condition (don't believe it has seen a needle). Side One is a message from YMO Tighten Up with excerpts from Snakeman Show. Side Two features edited selections for X Multiplies; Nice Age, Technopolis, Rydeen, Behind the Mask and Day Tripper.

The record holder folds out to 10 3/4" X 16 1/2". It is an announcement from A&M Records: "On November 7, 1980, an unprecedented event in our industry will take place. A&M Records, in association with Fuji Television of Japan, and Alfa Records of Japan, will VIDEO-BEAM via satellite from Los Angeles to Japan a live concert of Yellow Magic Orchestra from the Chaplin Soundstage at A&M Records."
