Description
VICTOR SPECIAL RECORDS *8 - DEDICATION OF CAMDEN AS WORLD RADIO CENTRE OF WORLD - SEPT 1930
- We have 8 12' 78'S issued by RCA Victor on a white label Victor Special Record that celebrated the City of Camden, NJ as the Radio Centre of the world and was held at the Walt Whitman Hotel, Camden, NJ. The record numbers are 64206, 64207, 64208, 64213, 64218, 64220, 64222 and 64223. Obviously this indicates that there were more in this series because of the winning numbers. 64223 was the last record issued as this clearly winds down the radio broadcast. In addition there are fewer playing grooves on this record than the other records. Now on to the contents. 64206 is part dedication but also includes a recording by Nat Shilkret and the Victor Orchestra playing 'Al Fresco", 64207 is all spoken word and mainly praises the state of NJ and the importance is will play in the radio industry, 64208 is all spoken work and dedication by the Governor of NJ, 64213 discussed the City of Camden, its business strength etc, 64218 is spoken and praises US industry in general and the radio industry in particular, 64220 includes some dedications and a song by Richard Crooks, 64222 is all soken word and praises the ability to broadcast worldwide, 64223 is the final record and winds down the broadcast and thanks the sponsors.
- Here are the details:
- The records vary in condition from V to V+ and there are some clicks from scratches and light tracking noise but they could also do with a clean which I am sure will improve the playing condition. All records play clearly
- The labels have writing but this also includes names of the speakers and artists as well as some other writing.
- Shipping within the US will be $8.00 media mail despite what it says elsewhere in this listing. Rates outside the US will be advised except that it will be cheaper to send to Canada than elsewhere and not as advertized elsewhere in this listing.
- Full refund is given for any reason if goods are returned within 10 days of receipt
- Mail me if you would like further information
