His Master's Voice JUP 102 (GB) "Wawo Kristo" (highlife in Fante)/ "I Love Keken" (Accra samba) by King Bruce & his Black Beats. King co-founded the group whose name, if not its membership, would remain with him all his life: the Black Beats. The name reflected a heartfelt loyalty to African rhythms and feelings in his then colonial context. The swing sounds was an important element in the Black Beats' sound, which featured a strong vocal lineup. In 1961, nine Black Beats members defected to form the Ramblers. Electric guitar, sax & brass giving a great background & soli, superb vocals. Relax rhythm. Fantastic music. B side with a samba rhythm gives something new with great vocals by J.W.Archibold
