Description

We have here a incredibly scarce 12" specially recorded disc from the 11/11/1920 funeral ceremony of The Unknown Soldier at Westminster Abbey 

Recorded by Columbia at the event using the very first 'electrical' recording process The Merriman Electrical Process' making this disc the first known electrically recorded disc in the UK, possibly the world.

500 were pressed and were only available by postal request and sold at 7s 6d (post free) and proceeds to the Westminster fund

Very few of these discs have survived and I can find no record of any being offered for sale 

Condition is Excellent with minor rubs, Label is very clean, playback is fair due to the recording process, this can be found on Youtube and the net with some good information
