Description
Here's a rare 1902 Zonophone on which Arthur Collins sings, "I Never Trouble Trouble Until Trouble Troubles Me." Piano acc. Catalogue number 9901. Raised lettering on paperless "label" (see photo). There is a restricted use notice on the back in the same raised-letters configuration. A previous owner wrote the word "good" in pencil on the back. Content opinion? Grading? Your guess is as good as mine! (Purchased looong ago from Jason Coppernoll.)
NOTE: For a couple of reasons--one of which is my less-than-perfect hearing--my grading is visual. But I did play this record and was astounded at the fidelity! Arthur and the piano are louder than the surface noise, even on a newly-manufactured portable player! Even I could make out quite a few of the words! The record is worn somewhat, of course, so there is distortion on certain syllables.
Visual Grade: V+, with very light scuffs. No digs nor any other damage. Plays through perfectly!
Relatively new to selling on eBay, but I've been dealing in 78s off and on since the 1970s, so I know how to pack them.
