RCA VICTOR P-310, "HANK SNOW SINGS FAMOUS RAILROADING SONGS."  Three-disc 78 RPM album set from 1951 USA. 

RECORDS: N.O.S., all three discs are NEW-OLD-STOCK, grade N!

LABELS: perfect!

ALBUM: VG++, extremely light shelf wear only. Records will be shipped in separate sleeves to prevent damage to album pages and records.

This stunning album set is just like right off the store shelf sixty years ago! It is from a huge Country, Western, and Bluegrass collection of a lifelong music hoarder who bought thousands of 78 rpm records from the 1940s through the 1950s, and stored them for decades on custom-built shelves in several rooms of the house where he lived alone. Better than 95% of this collection is NEW-OLD-STOCK and appears to have never been played. He had no ties to anyone in the music industry. He was simply addicted to collecting music, and apparently spent his life trying to find every disc by everyone from Eddy Arnold to Hank Williams, Sr.  It appears that he got as close to that goal as can be imagined. Original albums and paper company sleeves show only age-related wear, not the usual utter damage. This collection still has me reeling. Be sure to keep checking my store as I continue to widen the selection; this is going to take me at least the rest of the year to finish.

RECORD GRADING

POLICIES

"The VJM Record Grading System is an internationally-used and recognised system for grading both 78s and LPs. It is used by virtually all record dealers and collectors alike, with an easily understood sequence of letters to show grades... The first grading system to be adopted by jazz record collectors was devised by the publishers of Record Changer magazine in the 1940s, and the system now known as the VJM Grading System is a refined version of the former, introduced in the early 1950s."

Grading for all records is conservative, not to mention subjective. If you disagree with my advertised visual grade, please allow me the courtesy of an email and I'll be happy to resolve your issue.

As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed).

(NEW-MINUS)

Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.

E+

(EXCELLENT-PLUS)

Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets.

E

(EXCELLENT)

Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.

(EXCELLENT-MINUS)

Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches.

V+

(VERY GOOD-PLUS)

V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and genral use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.

Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

V-

(VERY GOOD-MINUS)

Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.

(GOOD-PLUS)

Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.

Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise.

Music still prominent, but wear and scatch damage extensive.

Most of music remains audible over surface noise, but listening now uncomfortable.

All records are carefully and visually inspected under a cool, bright light. Visual grades are given as according to the VJM grading chart at left.

Visual grading is standard, unless playgrading is specified in the auction description.

If you disagree with my visual grade I will gladly approve a full refund (excluding return postage) on any item returned within 3 business days, foreign or domestic. eBay / PayPal policy clearly states return postage costs are the responsibility of the buyer. I do not refund return postage.

I gladly combine auctions from the same week into one shipment to save you postage. Please be patient for your combined invoice... this is usually immediate but can sometimes take up to 24 hours if I have many auctions ending at once. I cannot combine auctions together after they have been paid for separately.

I will ship only to your CONFIRMED PayPal address. If your address is not confirmed or if you want your record shipped elsewhere, you must make other payment arrangements.

78 RPM ALBUM SETS ship in the largest available USPS Priority box with more-than-sufficient packaging to provide for safe delivery.    

Either Regional Priority or Flat Rate Priority will be selected depending on (1) your location in the USA and (2) the weight of your order if you purchase multiple album sets.

One method will save the payer of postage a few dollars or cents, the general rule being a heavy multiple order will benefit from using Flat Rate Priority for just $14.95 for postage... whereas a lighter weight parcel is best served by using Regional Priority instead; the closer you live to my home base near Cleveland, Ohio, the less postage will cost.

International

78 RPM ALBUM SETS ship via USPS Flat Rate Priority. 

International winners will be charged the same flat rate for postage whether they are shipping one album set or four album sets.

Up to four album sets can be safely nestled in one Flat Rate Priority carton for this flat rate price (usually $35.50 to Canada and Mexico, $58.50 everywhere else, see Shipping and payments tab above for actual rate charged).

International buyers are always responsible for all import taxes and customs fees.
