CONDITION
VINYL :- Terrific / shiny throughout and tracks through like a dream / one light mark on A-side but no effect at all during play-back / superb crisp and clean sound / sound-wise this one is rated EX+ easily…. a top copyLABELS :- Clean bar a white tag on a-side (I acquired it with this on and have left it as is)
SLEEVE :- original Festival company sleeve in excellent condition.
DESCRIPTION
A brilliant Aussie pressing of this 1970 monster psych single from relatively unknown vocalist Gene Pierson with his awesome cover of the Four Tops barnestorming classic.At 5mins and 15 secs this is surely one of the best examples of trippy phasing laid to vinyl since Russell Morris’s ‘The Real Thing’ ….absolutely outstanding sonic-tunnel-guitar work here with heaps of feedback reminiscent of the great 60’s acid-rock bands. The haunting effect provided by the Hammond-synth adds more spice and this is 'soooo good' it needs to be heard to be believed.
It doesn’t get much better than this ….a gem!!
This barely made it into the charts some 40 years ago which is why it is rarely sighted these days ... let alone in fab condition.
