Here we have an ultimate release by US alternative rock outfit Guided By Voices that reissues and compiles their first 5 LPs plus an additional 6th LP with special bonus material.
It was released on Scat Records/U.S.A. in 1995 as a lavish boxset in a very limited run with catalogue # SCAT 40-1. The records are housed in innersleeve-styled covers
that reproduces the original artwork of the LPs. I don't know why they missed to include their first 12" EP "Forever Since Breakfast" from 1986 in this compilation, but everything
you'll get here should be enough to join comfortable eves at the fireside in Christmas time.

For all you starters this could be of course a useful beginning guide to the musical world of Guided By Voices and for all of you that don't want to compile those early LPs via
countless auctions or by searching through endless sales platforms with numerous sellers here is your chance to grab them all in one!

I really don't know why some of the boxes came as mine and some with a different sticker on the front that looks like a label sticker which has "box" stated on it,
but the one I'm offering is definately one of the initial pressing run. It comes from my own collection carefully handled and well-looked after.

condition

records:

all records are in really nice shape except from two pressing marks on the first side of record two
which are producing clicks for a few seconds and some hairlines here and there, so they are strong
very good +

covers:

all of the covers have wrinkles and partly ringwear due to their delicate character,
the cover of the second record has a tiny tear on the upper backside, I would grade them conservatively
very good +

box:

the box itself has no splits but definately signs of use, especially at the bottom-side and -edges (see pic 3)
as it's often the case with black boxes that old so I would grade it somewhere between
good + and very good -
