You are bidding on a copy of "Old Masters, Vol. 1," an extraordinary box set of the first 5 Frank Zappa records, remastered with the original packaging, a 28-page full-size booklet of notes, lyrics and reviews and an extra 6th record of early FZ rarities. Box contains all original inner sleeves and inserts.

I bought this box when it came out in 1985 or so, and the records have been stored in a plastic sleeves in a wooden record case since. The covers are absolutely mint, the booklet is undamaged and the records are mint. I played these records no more than once apiece to tape them. The outer box still has the original shrink wrap remaining, and the only blemish is on the bottom front of the box where a slight bit of the silver has worn away. I can't imagine you can find a better copy of the set anywhere today.

If you are a Zappa fan at all, you know it was quite exciting when Zappa first released this box in 1985, as it was the first time any of these recordings had been remastered or reissued since the 1960s. This set contains the remixed, remastered and partially re-recorded version of "We're Only In It For The Money," which is becoming harder and harder to find, especially on vinyl. I hate to part with the box, but I am trying to raise money for some new speakers for my stereo system. The cost is worth it alone just to hear Zappa sing "Charva" on the Mystery Disc.

Records will be shipped in a bubble wrap box, with vinyl stored outside of the box and in extra replacement sleeves to avoid damage. Every effort will be made to ensure that entire item arrives without any damage or strain from shipping. 

PLEASE NOTE: Total item weight will be 7 pounds. Shipping will be USPS or international rate plus $5.00 handling. Since I have not boxed the item up and taken it to the post office to verify rate, shipping costs will be determined after end of auction based on location. Normally, I don't offer shipping insurance on my records (since I'm just an audiophile who sometimes sells off duplicates), but if you want insurance, e-mail me and I will arrange it. I will ship international.
