Description
Presenting a lot of four 78 RPM records featuring Arabic singers. They are original pressings from the late 1930s. There are brief announcements at the start of side one on each disc. All of the artists are accompanied by various Syrian-Arabic instruments as they sing what we assume to be traditional or folk tunes.
All records are German pressed Odeons. I can't list their titles, as they are written in Arabic. All of the discs are in excellent condition, and retain much of their original sheen.
The label on record A224331 is printed totally in Arabic. The singer is male. Records A220014 and A20009 feature Henein, who I assume is the artist. Record A220040 features Huneein (Omar Zeenni).
Pre-World War II Arabic recordings are getting hard to find, and all of these discs have excellent fidelity for that era. Please be sure to look at all my photos below. White areas on the labels are reflection from my scanner.
