Description
Here are three Janet Greene 45's and each comes with the picture sleeve. These are from the mid 1960's and they are right wing, ultra-conservative John Birch Society type propaganda records. A great piece of history and it is funny that it might be repeating itself. (I don't mean funny funny, just ironic) These recordings were funded by Dr. Fred Schwarz of the Christian Anti-Communist Crusade. Janet was originally was from Columbus, Ohio where she played Cinderella on a popular children's TV show. (She might have done better if Lawrence Welk would have discovered her) I found these while "record shopping" at my favorite dump in the early 1980's. The three titles are: Fascist Threat b/w Commie Lies (the words are to the tune of Jimmy Cracked Corn and the flip has a Bellafonte calypso beat), Termites b/w Comrades Lament, and lastly Hunter and the Bear b/w Inch by Inch (poppy sounding and flip is Irish ballad sounding). On the Chantico label out of Long Beach.
Google her and there is some good info on her and these songs. I would include the link but that is in violation of Ebay policy which as you know I truly admire and respect.
Records and sleeves are in Very Good condition from the 60's and I would grade all of these a VG+.
Flat rate US Media Mail shipping $3- for the lot or as many as you buy so check out all of the other 45's that I am listing today and buy a bunch. Went through my collection today and culled out some stuff that probably won't be playing in my aging years.
