Description

Jive Records JDJ-41630-1. Rare original pressing. Triple vinyl. Original owner. Stored in climate-controlled environment for 20+ years. Vinyl is unplayed and flawless. Sleeve looks new, still so shiny you can see my reflection in a couple of the pics. Clean version, some lyrics are backmasked. Original hype sticker and small gold promo stamp near UPC label (see pics). A true collector's item!

I am slowly listing some of my collection here, so if you don't see a record, CD, or tape on here from the golden era of rap ('86 to '95-ish), send me a message. I just might have it!

Why you can bid with confidence when purchasing music from me:

I was a DJ for about 10 years and accumulated a lot of records, CD’s, and tapes during this time, many in duplicate or triplicate. I’m also a slight packrat and have hung on to most of my collection for 30+ years. It has been at my home in a climate controlled, smoke-free environment. In 2020 I have decided to move on and begun the slow process of listing many of the unused, or hardly used, duplicates and other items I no longer want, or listen to, on eBay. It is a lot of work.

I take my time inspecting each record, grading it appropriately, and researching prices all over the web. I do my best to offer a fair price. My vinyl grades are conservative; I prefer to underpromise and overdeliver as a seller. I test all my vinyl, unless it is sealed, or is something I am sure has never been played. Why would I have something and never played it? Because as a DJ I was mailed more than one copy of many items by record companies and record pools. Now it’s your turn to enjoy them!

Below is my grading criteria; most everything I list is VG+ or higher. Please message me if you have further questions about a listing here.

Very Good (VG) A VG-rated vinyl has experienced a lot of use. It’s still useable but will carry a few distortions. A VG-rated record often carries light pops and clicks. It might have light visible scratches, and it may have split edges. You can enjoy listening to a VG-rated record, and you can use it as an artistic display, too. For the most part, a VG-rated record is undamaged. Upon closer inspection, however, its use will be apparent—both visually and audibly.

Very Good Plus (VG+) A VG+ record has little faults. It doesn’t, however, have compromised audio or visuals. A VG+ record may have several inaudible marks and a little rub. Its audio may have slight background crackle. A lot of these records have been in and out of their sleeve only a few times. Their minute signs of use, generally, reflect high-quality care.

Near Mint (NM) A Near Mint record looks glossy and it’s clearly only been played several times. NM vinyl has little to no markings, and its package is either untouched or nearly untouched. Don’t expect to find any distortions on a NM record. In essence: A NM record is imperfect only in its one-or-two-time use.

Mint (M) A Mint record is perfect. It’s never been played, and it might’ve never been removed from its package. It has no blemishes or audio distortions. Mint vinyl is rare, and it’s incredibly valuable.
