Modular Touring and Michael Coppel Presents, in conjunction with The Max Sessions in the Park and Nova radio, are pleased to announce the forthcoming 2005 National Australian tour for JACK JOHNSON. Featuring an extraordinary line-up of special guests, and encompassing both outdoor shows and intimate theatres, the forthcoming tour promises to be a unique live experience indeed.
Making waves with quiet songs for the better part of the last few years, JACK JOHNSON has become an undeniable - albeit reluctant - superstar. Delivering his signature sound that fans around the world have grown to love over the past 5 years, his live shows have become truly captivating affairs. 2005 sees him returning to Australia for his first tour in two years, and bringing with him a swag of fresh songs in the form of a brand new album.
Returning with his constant touring companions, Adam Topol on drums and Merlo Podlewski on bass, these three extraordinary musicians promise to bring to life the songs from JACK'S multi-platinum selling albums "Brushfire Fairytales", "On and On", and his forthcoming album "In Between Dreams".
Like Jack Johnson's story, it's been a grassroots musical journey for XAVIER RUDD. His warm and emotive songs connect with anyone who hears or sees him perform - which goes some way to explaining the huge level of support he attracts whenever he plays. Released early last year, Xavier's platinum selling album "Solace" catapulted him toward star status. A virtual one man band with his stomp box, guitar, djembe and didgeridoo, Xavier's rhythmic and rootsy sounds are the perfect compliment to the touring lineup.
With a career spanning 10 years, the trio known as G.LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE write songs about live life and lemonade Signed to Jack Johnson's label Brushfire Records, G.Love released their sixth studio album "The Hustle" late last year to critical acclaim. Last touring here in 2002, G.Love & Special Sauce join the Brushfire family on the road as the opening act for the forthcoming Australian tour.
Stringing the evening's entertainment together will be DJ extraordinaire KATALYST. Spinning tunes between sets, Katalyst promises to have you spellbound as he plays you tracks from his award winning album "Agent Manipulated", plus songs from his forthcoming rare groove and hip hop compilation album "Dusted". All this alongside some classic R & B and good old fashioned Rock'n'Roll.
Pro-surfing pal and singer / songwriter DONAVON FRANKENREITER continues his love affair with Australian audiences and returns for his fourth visit in a little over 12 months. On the back of his gold selling release "Free", Donavon will be performing with his full band at the SYDNEY Centennial Park and MELBOURNE Myer Music Bowl shows ONLY.
