Catalog Number: Creation Records, CRE LP 189 - Condition: Still Sealed (SS)
This is a museum-quality example of the definitive UK first pressing. It remains in its original factory seal and features all the "Gold Standard" markers required by serious Oasis collectors:

This is the highly sought after Damont Pressing. Because it is sealed, I cannot check the runouts to be 100% sure, but based on the following criteria, I can be 99.8% sure it is:

  • Title: (What's The Story) Morning Glory? Cataolog CRE LP 189 on the spine.
  • Jacket Variant: True Tri-fold (6-panel) sleeve construction with the original White Spine. (Later reissues transitioned to black spines and standard gatefold layouts).
  • Pressing Plant: Likely the Damont (UK) pressing. Identified by the loose-fitting poly-wrap and the presence of solid black, non-die-cut inner sleeves visible at the jacket opening (unlike the French MPO variant which features center-hole cutouts).

  • Distribution: Features the critical "Distributed by 3MV/Vital" credit on the rear, used exclusively for the 1995 independent retail run (See above right)
  • Tracklist Exclusive: Contains the vinyl-only track "Bonehead's Bank Holiday," which was excluded from the CD and digital releases of the era.
  • Audio Fidelity: Sourced from the original 1/2-inch analog masters, providing the dynamic "un-brickwalled" soundstage that collectors prefer over modern remasters.
💎Why the "Damont" is the Holy Grail? Because it was the very first run (approximately the first 5,000–10,000 copies) and was cut directly from the 1/2-inch master tapes at the height of the band's power.I've taken a few pictures of giveaway identifiers to prove this is a first pressing, namely: the Creation Records and CRE LP 189 on the spine, and the barcode with the Creations Records and address in the upper right back corner with the additional 3MV/Vital credit, shown right and left, and again, this copy is still sealed in shrinkwrap.

    • I bought this album when it first came out, along with 400 others from a local record store in Pasadena, CA when they were going out of business. I have had it, and many other early 90's released stored in my record room (along with the other 10,000, yes that number is right, albums) which is temperature controlled, and non-smoking as well. Many of them are currently listed, but I still have a ton to list, and I like to be thorough and accurate in my listings, so I don't just throw them up and see what sticks, like many other sellers do.
    It is still sealed in the original relatively loose shrinkwrap, and also will come with two new acid free inner sleeves and a mylar outer so the new owner can keep them fresh and clean.
