The Song: As a single record, this work sold a total of 103,000 copies on Oricon, but continued to chart in the TOP100 for nearly half a year.  With this hit, Mariya won the rookie award at the "21st Japan Record Awards" at the end of December 1979.
The chorus arrangement of "SEPTEMBER" recorded on side A is credited to an artist called EPO, but this was aimed for public marketing to make her debut in 1980, and in fact it is the head by the producer in charge Shigeki Miyata. In addition, EPO sings the female chorus and Miyata sings the male chorus.
"Namida No Onesided Love" recorded on side B is an original written by Mariya for the second album, and is written and composed by Mariya herself, and arranged by Tatsuro Yamashita, who late gets married.
Lyrics Translated To English:

I jumped into the door of the train
Chasing after your mustard yellow shirt
I know I shouldn’t be
So I hid when you turned around
The city’s been colored in with crayons
I run along, my tears stained from it too
I know you’re meeting up with someone older
September   And then you
September   Turned into fall
You cast a shadow over my heart
As if your summer sunlight was dimming
September   And now September
September   Is a land of goodbye for us
The knot holding our love together is coming apart
My tears become the leaves on the trees

I wanna meet her so I can ask
For her to give him back to me
But I can’t, I’m too timid– my lips freeze over
September   And then you
September   Turned into fall
The fact that we can’t even talk now
Is proof that you’re over me
September   And now September
September   Is a land of goodbye for us
The moon’s the loneliest color
Of all the seasons

Tomorrow I’ll give you back the Dictionary you lent me
The way you can tell the only word I cut out was “Love”
Is “good-bye good-bye”
September   And then you
September   Turned into fall
Being the only one to have my feelings hurt
That was the kindness you left behind
September   And now September
September   Is a land of goodbye for us
I’ll never wear these tricolor beach clothes
Ever again
