Description
This is a pressing of the legendary 1972 DIY EP by the group of High School friends called Rittenhouse Square; Mitch Easter, Chris Stamey, Peter Holsapple, and Bobby Locke. Pressed on a private label, R2 (as in R squared), the EP feature six tracks. If you know of this EP, then you likely know that the music featured is in no way (stylistically) a preview of Sneakers, the dB’s, Let’s Active, or any other future musical endeavors of the members. It’s just straight ahead rock and roll.
When I acquired this, it was housed in a plain white LP sleeve. If this was one of the pressings that came in the hand-painted covers made by Mitch Easter, that cover was long gone. So, it does not include the original custom LP sleeve. Overall the vinyl is in VG+ condition. Aside from typical light surface noise in places (mostly in between tracks), out of the whole EP. I only heard 3 moderately loud clicks or pops, otherwise it is VG+ throughout. You can see the tracks listed on the labels, and the label defect on side 1 which obscures the catalog number, is strictly on the label itself. There is no actual crack on the vinyl, just the appearance of it on the label.
This one is nearly impossible to find, so here’s your chance! The record will be shipped first class via USPS, in a sturdy cardboard LP mailer. I will also include a cd-r of a direct transfer from the vinyl, and another cd-r with that transfer digitally cleaned up.
