Original 1972 first press by the mighty blues/hardrock sound of Navasota who come rootin' round your door ::::
The Year was 1969 and hard-rock with blues edges had taken the country by storm, and five lads from Southheast Texas had their own vision of how to create this sound. Steve Long (guitar), Ray Pawlik (guitar), Dicky Sony (vocals), Lindsey Minter (drums), and Paul Minter (bass) formed the band Navasota!
By 1972, Navasota finally caught on with major label ABC Dunhill Records. The band hot the road to Los Angeles to record their only album Rootin´. The album was produced by Gary Katz, and Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan fame. In spite of the Steely Dan connection, the hard bluesrock sound has nothing in common with the commercial sound of Steely Dan. there’s precious little biographical info to be found about this outfit. “Rootin'” is best described as bluesy-rock powered by Sony’s growling vocals with group penned original tracks such as ‘Western Boots’, ‘$2 Bill’ and ‘That’s How It Is (Playin’ In a Rock & Roll Band)’ are tight with a catchy sound along the lines of what Lynyrd Skynyrd were doing on their first couple of albums and the double guitars line-up. As a result Navasota toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd, but as obscurities go, they didn't sell enough albums to please ABC/Dunhill and were dropped by the label. Still the group soldiered on into the late '70s backed by their loyal Texas fan base. The album is little seen and copies without a lot of shelf wear like this copy are even that much harder to locate, hence the reason we haven't listed in the past 10+ years...

CONDITION: The cover: rated: "EX" (excellent) near impossible to find in better condition, the black cover after 45 years shows normally much wear. This copy is an exception where there is no more than a tiny trace of wear showing. Back cover is M- There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... Overall about as good as it gets for this album.
The vinyl: Rated: M- TOP COPY... looks and plays clean... both Dunhill labels are clean
