RARE... 1971 original BRITISH pressing with nice laminated with unique left handed pocket opening...

Cliff Bennett was one of the most under-rated R&B singers of his generation. His group, the Rebel Rousers were one of the great sixties beatrock bands in England ...

Little known to many, Cliff Bennett was also the powerful vocalist front man with the mighty TOE FAT and this, his rare "Rebellion" album was issued just after TOE FAT disbanded (after releasing two highly worthy albums)...Taking TOE FAT members with him, Cliff Bennett's Rebellion delivers a strong similar sound... formed in 1971 "REBELLION" marked a return to the heavy TOE FAT style of rock with a twist of blues. Bennett & crew  recorded an excellent set for CBS, which showcases his powerful vocal style, backed by a driving band with tastey guitar. Among the eight tracks on this much sought after album are original songs, including 'Say You Don't Love Me'. Other highlights feature a powerful handling of the Eric Clapton tune "Blues Power" replete with rebel rousing backing. As well, the self-penned closing track "Better world" is sung at slow tempo with palpable emotion and features  stinging guitar fills by Robert Smith...

All said, it's a surprising strong set of tracks, understand then why it's sought after.

CONDITION: The cover is a fragile UK laminated issue, a unique left handed opening pocket, completely M- top level with no bends, no split seams, no writing...the seldom seen rarity is nearly 40 years old -- makes for a terrific upgrade or first time score...

The vinyl is all clean and clear M- plays and looks to top level
